Experiments in Impact Engineering Lab in Oxford – part 2 | March 2015

PhD student Nina Čeh was visiting Impact Engineering Lab in Oxford between 15 March and 20 March 2014.
Samples - Oxford 2Within the visit experiments were carried out on rigid blocky structures (single blocks and stacks of three blocks) on two different scales. The aim was to investigate whether a scaling effect can be noticed in dynamic behavior of such structures due to horizontal ground acceleration function. The acceleration function was inflicted by impact with the base upon which the blocky structure was positioned.
